Speaking
BBC Breakfast
Grace speaks to BBC Breakfast about eating disorders and her recovery from anorexia nervosa.

I have begun a speaking programme on eating disorders in schools and hospitals. From the talks I have already conducted I understand that there is a need to open up a dialogue on the issues around eating disorders: to provide positive role models for pupils, and understanding and insight for parents, teachers and doctors.
I feel compelled to pass on what I have learnt through my experience. In particular, I want to take my experience to young people: to open up a dialogue. I feel it is important to talk about emotional health issues. And, I believe it helps, if there is a personal story such as my own with which to identify.
My aim is to talk about the importance of finding your individual shape – aside from peer pressure – a comfortable and positive place for yourself inside and out. I want to talk about the art of feeling self-confident, having good self-esteem and valuing yourself for who you are.
